Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly stressed the importance of building on the lessons learned from implementing the first phase of the presidential initiative “Decent Life” to accelerate the launch of projects under its second phase and maximize the impact of public investments aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of services provided to citizens.

Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting on Sunday, July 12, to review preparations for the second phase of the presidential initiative to develop Egypt's rural villages. The meeting was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa el Menshawy, Deputy Housing Minister for Utilities Ahmed Omran, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Walid Aref, Dar Al-Handasah project consultant Ahmed Abdel Azim and other officials.

The Prime Minister said that the meeting was part of a series of consultations to review readiness for launching the initiative's second phase, highlighting its role in upgrading the quality and efficiency of services across key sectors in targeted rural communities.

The meeting reviewed the key elements of the second phase, including projects across various service and development sectors, as well as the proposed implementation timetable to ensure their timely completion, operational readiness and the prompt delivery of services to residents.

Madbouly also reiterated the importance of expanding the use of locally manufactured components in implementing the projects to support the localization of industries and domestic production linked to development and public service projects, thereby contributing to broader economic and development goals.

The meeting also reviewed progress achieved under the first phase of the initiative, with officials noting that work has been completed in 850 villages so far. Since June 17, an additional 55 villages have been completed, while 159 projects have been finalized and 176 projects have been officially handed over across various sectors.
