Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Monday, October 12, 2026, held a meeting to review the agenda of the "Towards Productive Investment, Competitive Industry and Sustainable Jobs" session, as part of preparations for Egypt Forum 2026, which was commissioned by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The Premier said that the session will address challenges facing manufacturers and investors in Egypt. The meeting was attended by Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid Saleh, Labor Minister Hassan Raddad, Industry Minister Khaled Hashem, Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority Chairman Mostafa Sheikhoun, Arab Organization for Industrialization Chairman Mohamed Abu Bakr, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency CEO Mostafa Ismail, and a number of officials.
The Prime Minister added that the session will also tackle reform priorities for the coming period, particularly the role of government policies and initiatives in supporting industry and investment and streamlining procedures for investors. It will also review future targets for boosting production, deepening local manufacturing and strengthening private-sector participation, as well as explore ways to improve the competitiveness of Egyptian workers and the working environment, Madbouly noted.
The session will further examine the future of jobs, the skills required and the extent to which education and training systems meet factories’ actual needs, the Prime Minister said. The session will also highlight promising investment incentives and opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, efforts to localize advanced industries in partnership with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, mechanisms to empower small and medium-sized enterprises, and programs to upgrade national workforce skills to meet labor-market needs across sectors.
Participants stressed the importance of ensuring that the session features constructive, interactive dialogue that primarily addresses Egyptian citizens while engaging with the business community and private sector across various industries. The aim is to strengthen confidence in Egypt’s investment climate and highlight its promising opportunities and competitive advantages for domestic and foreign investors, in line with the State’s continued commitment to supporting and encouraging investment, particularly in productive sectors, and fostering a sustainable, business-friendly environment that supports economic growth.
