Rostom described Egypt's cooperation with Japan as a model partnership built on mutual respect and the exchange of expertise, affirming the government's commitment to broadening economic ties and advancing joint development initiatives that serve the interests of both countries.

He said Egypt's economic and social development plan for fiscal year 2026/27 prioritizes improving the efficiency of public spending by directing investments toward priority sectors to maximize their developmental impact while maintaining macroeconomic stability and supporting sustainable, inclusive growth.

The minister stressed that human development remains a government priority, highlighting the presidential Decent Life initiative as one of Egypt's largest integrated rural development programs aimed at improving infrastructure and public services. Rostom also reviewed the government's ongoing economic and structural reform agenda to strengthen macroeconomic stability, improve the business environment, enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy, and empower the private sector as a key driver of sustainable growth.
