Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk said on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the ministry is committed to integrating advanced technologies across its projects to enhance efficiency, governance, and sustainability. His remarks came during a meeting with officials from Verto Wave to explore cooperation on the national "Carry On" project, which aims to unify the commercial identity of outlets affiliated with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and its subsidiaries, while modernizing their management and operations to strengthen the internal trade system and improve services for citizens.
Farouk described the project as a strategic initiative to develop the ministry's nationwide network of outlets, unify their branding, and enhance their ability to deliver modern, high-quality services in line with Egypt's digital transformation agenda and efforts to build a more efficient and competitive economy.
During the meeting, Verto Wave officials presented the company's expertise in digital transformation, technological infrastructure management, cloud computing, automation, and artificial intelligence, highlighting how these capabilities could support the establishment of an integrated operating and management system for the project.
The two sides also discussed deploying advanced technologies to monitor inventory levels across outlets in real time, improve supply chain efficiency, and implement AI-powered inventory management and demand forecasting systems. These measures are expected to enhance product availability, reduce waste, and maximize operational efficiency.
Discussions further covered the development of a benchmark price index to track market prices in real time and support decision-making, as well as the use of smart analytics to detect potential leakages, manipulation, and other irregularities, strengthening oversight and governance across the system.
