Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman Gomblat said the National Authority for Military Production's planning budget and program-based performance budget for fiscal year 2026/2027 are aligned with the political leadership’s directives to support national industry and expand reliance on advanced technologies.
During a meeting of the House of Representatives’ Plan and Budget Committee, chaired by Gomblat, the minister said the budget includes integrated investment plans to develop affiliated companies and units, modernize production lines and localize advanced technologies to enhance productivity and introduce new products that meet local market needs.
Gomblat explained that the FY 2026/2027 budget is based on a future-oriented vision centered on two main pillars. The first is fulfilling the ministry’s core mission of meeting the Armed Forces’ requirements for weapons, ammunition and military equipment with high efficiency.
Gomblat added that the ministry is also working to increase exports of military production products to foreign markets to help generate hard currency and support the national economy. The minister stressed that the ministry aims to achieve higher export growth rates in the coming years, while the second pillar focuses on expanding partnerships and cooperation with local and international private-sector entities to support national and development projects and maximize the use of available industrial capabilities.
He said the ministry’s priorities include continuing to develop the manufacturing capabilities of its affiliated companies, improving the quality of services and products provided to citizens, strengthening efforts to localize modern technologies and transfer advanced industrial expertise, and integrating artificial intelligence technologies into manufacturing processes in line with Egypt’s sustainable development strategy and efforts to deepen local manufacturing.
He also praised the supportive role played by the parliamentary committee in backing the authority’s development and reform plans, stressing the importance of continued coordination and cooperation to achieve targeted goals and enhance the contribution of the military production sector to the national economy.
For their part, members of the legislative committee expressed appreciation for the vital role of the Ministry of Military Production as one of the state’s key industrial pillars in both the military and civilian sectors. They also commended the industrial progress achieved by the ministry in recent months, citing the advanced technical and manufacturing capabilities of its affiliated companies in supporting national industry, deepening local manufacturing, localizing modern technologies and creating more job opportunities.
The committee highlighted the ministry’s belief that scientific research is a key driver of industrial development, noting its efforts to link research outputs with industrial needs and transform innovations into productive applications that enhance products, increase added value and strengthen the position of Egyptian industry.
In conclusion, Gomblat stressed the importance of continuing to work efficiently to achieve the targets of the new budget, with a focus on adopting innovative solutions and maximizing the use of available resources to support ongoing development within military production companies and reinforce their role as a cornerstone of national industry and comprehensive development in Egypt.
