The Egyptian Red Crescent announced that the 207th “Zad Al Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza” aid convoy entered the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, carrying 2,415 tons of comprehensive humanitarian assistance, including sacrificial meat, food baskets, flour, medical supplies, relief materials and petroleum products to operate hospitals and vital facilities in the enclave.
The Red Crescent said in a statement that essential needs, including clothing, mattresses and tents for sheltering displaced persons, were also delivered to residents of the Gaza Strip. It noted that the organization remained present at border areas since the beginning of the crisis, stressing that the Rafah border crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side.
It added that it has maintained full readiness across its logistics hubs and continued efforts to facilitate the entry of humanitarian and relief aid, which has now exceeded 995,000 tons, through the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers. The statement recalled that Israeli forces closed all crossings leading to the Gaza Strip on March 2, 2025, following the end of the first phase of a ceasefire agreement and the failure to reach a deal to consolidate the truce.
It added that the ceasefire was later violated on March 18, 2025, with heavy airstrikes and a renewed ground incursion into areas from which forces had previously withdrawn. It further noted that Israeli authorities subsequently blocked the entry of humanitarian aid trucks, fuel, and shelter supplies for displaced persons, as well as heavy equipment needed for rubble removal and reconstruction.
Aid deliveries to Gaza resumed in May 2025 under a mechanism implemented by Israeli authorities and a US private security company, despite rejection by the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which said the arrangement did not comply with established international mechanisms.
