Industry Minister Khaled Hashem said the government provides full support to car manufacturers in Egypt as part of efforts to deepen local manufacturing, enhance competitiveness, and transform the country into a regional hub for automotive and component production.
During a tour of El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company’s industrial complex in Helwan, accompanied by Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, the minister said the state is directing various forms of support to companies operating in the sector to increase production and exports, while benefiting from incentives offered under the national automotive industry development program.
He added that the government is also working to remove customs distortions between importing vehicle components and fully assembled cars. Hashem stressed the importance of expanding infrastructure for electric vehicles through increasing charging stations in line with the global shift toward environmentally friendly transportation.
For his part, Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber said El Nasr Automotive represents one of the symbols of national industry, noting that state support under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi played a decisive role in reviving and developing the company after years of suspension.
During the tour, the minister inspected bus and passenger car production lines, assembly and painting units, and attended celebrations marking the production of the 1,000th vehicle at El Nasr Automotive.
