Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Governor Hassan Abdullah and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdelaziz Konsowa discussed on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, preparations for launching the second phase of the national Future Scientists Scholarship initiative, which will admit a new batch of students for the 2026/2027 academic year.
During a meeting at the CBE headquarters, both sides reviewed the initiative’s first-year performance and explored ways to expand its reach to support more academically outstanding students from low-income families, enabling them to enroll in Egypt’s private national universities.
Abdullah reaffirmed the central bank’s commitment to supporting higher education and scientific research as part of Egypt’s human capital development strategy, describing investment in outstanding students as an investment in the country’s future. He also praised the ministry’s role in launching Egypt’s first bachelor's program in banking sciences.
Konsowa stressed the ministry’s commitment to expanding the initiative and strengthening partnerships with state institutions to provide equal educational opportunities, foster innovation, and advance sustainable development goals.
