Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom said on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, that field monitoring of development projects and continuous coordination with governorates have become a key strategic priority for the ministry to ensure the effective implementation of the country’s economic and social development plan under the public investment governance framework.
Speaking during an inspection tour of Beheira Governorate with Governor Jacqueline Azar, Rostom said on-site visits enable the ministry to closely monitor project progress, assess their impact on citizens’ quality of life, and swiftly address any implementation challenges.
The tour includes inspections of development projects in vital sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, human development and agriculture, as part of broader efforts to localize development and improve public services across Egypt. The visit is part of a series of nationwide field tours conducted by the minister to monitor the implementation progress of the 2025/2026 investment plan.
Rostom previously visited Port Said and Monofia earlier this year to review progress on development projects.
