The 52nd Annual Conference of the African Insurance Organization (AIO) and its General Assembly meeting officially commenced in Cairo. The event is being hosted by the Insurance Federation of Egypt under the patronage of the Prime Minister and the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), under the theme: “Insurance as an Enabler of Economic Growth for All.” The conference is regarded as one of the largest and most significant insurance gatherings on the African continent, attracting more than 2,000 participants from across the world.
The conference is scheduled to run through June 9 and features specialized panel discussions, workshops, and high-level professional meetings, in addition to a variety of social and cultural activities designed to foster networking and knowledge exchange among participants from different countries.
The event has drawn broad international participation, with delegates from 57 countries across Africa and other regions of the world registered to attend. This strong turnout reflects the conference’s growing prominence and the increasing international confidence in the Egyptian insurance market and its ability to host and organize major regional and global events.
As part of the conference’s hospitality program, the Insurance Federation of Egypt organized a special visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum for more than 210 international and regional delegates. The initiative aimed to introduce Egypt’s guests to one of the world’s most significant cultural and civilizational projects while showcasing the country’s unique tourism and cultural assets.
The Federation managed the visit in its entirety, providing participants with an opportunity to explore the museum’s remarkable archaeological treasures, which highlight the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization and its millennia-long history. The experience was met with strong appreciation and admiration from participating delegations.
Today's agenda includes a diverse program combining sporting activities and specialized technical meetings. A Fitness Walk, sponsored by CICA RE, will be held alongside a golf tournament featuring approximately 50 participants from international delegations and representatives of insurance and reinsurance companies.
The day’s activities also include meetings of several technical and executive committees of the African Insurance Organization, culminating in the conference’s official Welcome Cocktail Reception, hosted by the Insurance Federation of Egypt in honor of participating delegations.
