Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil said on Monday, July 6, 2026, that the "Youth Economy" project is a strategic initiative aimed at increasing youth participation in economic activity and transforming young people's potential into a driver of economic development.
Speaking during a meeting with senior ministry officials, Nabil reviewed preparations for launching the project in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives issued during the inauguration of the Strategic Command Headquarters. He said the ministry is implementing the initiative in partnership with government institutions, the private sector, universities, and civil society organizations to strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy.
The project includes developing a national youth economy map to identify investment opportunities, labor market needs, and priority sectors, supported by a national database and digital platform to guide implementation. The ministry also plans to use youth centers and other facilities to support training, entrepreneurship, and employment, while linking young people with funding opportunities and investors.
The initiative will be launched initially in selected governorates before being expanded nationwide.
