Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem said on Monday, July 6, 2026, that the electrical and engineering industries sector is one of Egypt's priority industrial sectors, citing its high value-added potential, export capacity, and role in localizing technology and deepening domestic manufacturing.
Hashem made the remarks while inaugurating, on behalf of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, the third edition of the Egypt Power Show (EPS) Buyers Mission, organized by the Engineering Export Council of Egypt under the Prime Minister's patronage. The minister said the sector has recorded strong growth in production and exports in recent years, supported by Egypt's modern infrastructure, economic reforms, and an investment climate conducive to manufacturing and exports.
He described the Egypt Power Show as an important platform connecting Egyptian manufacturers with international buyers, noting that the participation of buyers from 20 countries reflects growing confidence in Egyptian products and their competitiveness in global markets.
Hashem reaffirmed the Ministry of Industry's commitment to supporting companies to boost production, deepen local manufacturing, develop feeder industries, and expand exports. For his part, Engineering Export Council Chairman Sherif El-Sayyad said the council is continuing to expand into new markets through trade missions and buyers’ programmes, with the goal of increasing engineering exports to around US$7.5 billion in 2026.
Following the opening ceremony, Hashem toured the exhibition and met with representatives of participating companies and international buyers from Arab and African countries.
