Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk followed up on executive steps for implementing the national "Carry On" project during a meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk and Executive Director of the Future of Egypt Agency for Sustainable Development Bahaa El-Ghannam on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
In the presence of Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Food Industries (HCFI) Ayman Ismail and a host of senior officials from the ministries and state bodies concerned, the officials also discussed procedures for establishing the project operating company.
The "Carry On" project aims to develop the domestic trade sector and retail outlets, unifying the name "Carry On" as a modern brand for all outlets, including consumer complexes and supply stores. It falls within the framework of a national program to ease burdens on citizens, enhance market stability, and implement directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to strengthen institutional cooperation and integration across state bodies, the minister said.
The meeting focused on operational readiness for the "Carry On" initiative, designed to build an integrated, modern retail and commodity-availability model. The supply minister emphasized the importance of leveraging existing state assets, outlets, and logistical capabilities to optimize supply chains, reduce trading tiers, and connect production directly with distribution.
This approach seeks to ensure competitive pricing, regular supplies, and stable markets. Meanwhile, the minister of agriculture said his ministry will utilize fixed and mobile outlets alongside production projects to channel agricultural goods directly from farms to consumers at fair prices, while ensuring regular supplies of meat, poultry, and strategic commodities.
He described the meeting as a model of integration and continuous coordination among state institutions to regulate markets and alleviate burdens on citizens, in pursuance of President Sisi's directives. For his part, Ghannam said the Future of Egypt Agency will deploy its production capacities and logistical infrastructure to back the unified network, which would reinforce integration between production sites and sales outlets.
Concluding the meeting, the officials agreed to maintain joint coordination for accelerating executive and legal measures to establish the project company, paving the way for immediate implementation.
