Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received a high-level delegation from South Korea today at the SCZONE’s HQ in the New Capital. The delegation was led by Mr. Han Koo Yeo, Minister of Trade, Industry, and Resources.
The meeting aimed to present SCZONE’s competitive advantages and discuss bilateral cooperation to attract global investment in targeted sectors, specifically electronics, textiles, ready-made garments, and the automotive industry. The meeting was attended by executive leaders from the Korean Ministry, the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), and SCZONE officials.
During the meeting, the SCZONE Chairman highlighted SCZONE’s integration between ports and industrial areas, world-class infrastructure, and free trade agreements that allow full access to global markets. H.E. emphasized the goal of localizing Korean technology, citing successful partnerships with companies like “H&L” and “Samil” in Qantara West, and “Hyundai Rotem” in East Port Said.
