The gathering comes at a critical moment for the industry as Kenya seeks to balance urban expansion with housing affordability The official opening of the Kenya Property Developers Association (KPDA) conference at Radisson Blu Hotel, Upper Hill, Nairobi on October 29, 2026 /SCREENGRAB Property developers, investors, financial institutions and government leaders have converged in Nairobi for a conference to examine investment opportunities, market trends and policy reforms shaping Kenya’s built environment.
The conference, organised by the Kenya Property Developers Association (KPDA), is being held under the theme “20 Years of Shaping Kenya’s Built Environment” and seeks to chart the future of the property sector amid rapid urbanisation, rising housing demand and growing pressure on infrastructure.
The gathering comes at a critical moment for the industry as Kenya seeks to balance urban expansion with housing affordability, access to financing, infrastructure development and increasingly complex regulatory requirements. The programme brings together property developers, financial institutions, public-sector leaders, professional advisers and service providers to explore the outlook for the sector, emerging development opportunities and innovative investment models.
KPDA Chairman Zoravar Singh said Kenya needed predictable policies, efficient approval processes and stronger infrastructure planning to attract investment and support sustainable urban development. “As we look towards the next two decades, Kenya needs greater policy predictability, more efficient approval processes, stronger infrastructure planning and innovative financing solutions.
“We must move beyond fragmented approaches and build stronger partnerships that connect policy, infrastructure, financing and development,” Singh said. The conference will examine several issues affecting the sector, including unlocking institutional capital for real estate development, creating a more enabling regulatory environment and responding to changing demand for residential property.
Other discussions will focus on industrial and logistics facilities, digital infrastructure, and the development of master-planned and mixed-use communities that integrate residential, commercial and other services.
