Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Saturday, June 13, 2026, embarked on an inspection tour of Beheira governorate to follow up on work progress at several service and development projects there. During the tour, the premier affirmed that his visit to Beheira governorate is part of a series of ongoing field tours he is keen to undertake across the country, as they provide an opportunity to closely monitor progress on various projects on the ground in each governorate, accelerate implementation efforts, and address challenges, in pursuit of the state's goals of improving the quality of services provided to citizens, enhancing infrastructure efficiency, and supporting economic and social development projects.
Madbouly was accompanied by Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, Beheira Governor Jacqueline Azer, Deputy Minister of Health and Population Amr Kandil, Deputy Governor Shady el Meshed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Hisham el Leithy, along with a host of officials.
The Prime Minister said that Beheira is one of the largest governorates in Lower Egypt and is distinguished by its diverse resources, capabilities, and potential for industrial, agricultural, investment, and exploration projects. “The tour entails inspection of a large number of service and development projects, in addition to reviewing the project aimed at reviving the historic city of Rashid to strengthen its position as a global tourist destination,” Madbouly said.
He added that the city boasts a rich collection of archaeological landmarks, a unique architectural character, and distinguished traditional crafts.
