Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly affirmed that the state has ambitious plans to continuously attract investments to the Suez Canal Economic Zone, as well as to localize important projects within it. Among these projects is a proposal to establish a global logistics distribution center in the economic zone.
He explained that there are already offers submitted by several international companies in this regard. He noted that efforts are underway to achieve this important objective, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to maximize the benefits of the national projects implemented by the state, support efforts to attract foreign direct investment, and enhance Egypt’s position as a regional and global hub for trade, logistics, and supply chains.
This came during a meeting held on Monday, June 1st, 2026, to discuss the proposal to establish a global logistics distribution center in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The meeting was attended by Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el Khatib, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Walid Gamal El-Din, Deputy Chairman of the General Authority for SCZONE for Investment and Promotion Affairs Mostafa Sheikhou, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones Dr.
Mohamed Awad, and a number of officials. Madbouly stressed the importance of cooperating with serious companies in this framework and finalizing agreements with them in order to achieve the positive objectives of this important project.
