Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly directed swift allocation of additional funding to upgrade and improve Giza Governorate's sanitation and waste management system as well as intensifying efforts to enhance services provided to citizens. During a meeting on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, with Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad and Giza Governor Ahmed el-Ansary, Madbouly also ordered the immediate implementation of a number of vital infrastructure projects according to specific timelines.
The governor reviewed progress on development and service projects across the governorate, including urban development plans, investment projects, waste management initiatives, and the implementation of the presidential "Decent Life" initiative. Ansary also highlighted efforts to modernize solid waste management, through digital solutions and environmentally compliant facilities, as well as plans to boost tourism and investment activity, through new hospitality and conference projects near the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
