Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom Thursday, October 15, 2026, discussed with CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) Adeeb Al-Aama ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation. During a meeting that took place as part of Rostom's schedule of engagements on the sidelines of the 81st Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in the Thai capital, Bangkok, the Minister praised the ongoing communication and coordination with the ITFC across all areas of cooperation between Egypt and the corporation, as well as regular engagement between the two sides' teams.

Rostom commended the corporation's efforts under its 2026 annual work program with Egypt, signed in May for $1.5 billion with the Egyptian General Authority for Supply Commodities and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.
He praised the ITFC's flexibility and commitment to supporting Egypt's energy and food security and strengthening their long-term strategic partnership.
