Foreign Minister, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held talks on Thursday, October 15, 2026, with Poj Aramwattananont, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and President of Sea Value Group, on ways to strengthen economic, trade and investment ties between Egypt and Thailand.
During the meeting, Abdelatty praised the Thai Chamber of Commerce for its role as a key institution representing Thailand’s private sector. The Chamber has more than 100,000 member companies across various economic sectors, including large and medium-sized businesses.
He stressed the importance of strengthening communication between the business communities of both countries to open up broader prospects for trade and investment cooperation. Abdelatty affirmed Egypt’s keenness to build on the momentum in political relations with Thailand to advance their economic and investment partnership.
This would be achieved by boosting mutual investments and expanding cooperation among companies, production zones and supply chains in both countries. He underscored the Egyptian government’s support for Thai companies seeking to enter the Egyptian market or expand their existing investments.
He also welcomed Sea Value Group’s expansion plans in Egypt, highlighting the opportunities they offer to deepen economic cooperation between the two countries. The Minister also outlined positive developments in the Egyptian economy following the implementation of the economic reform program, which has helped strengthen macroeconomic stability and support growth.
He pointed to improving growth rates, the private sector’s growing role in driving sustainable growth, and continued efforts to improve the business environment and streamline procedures for foreign investors. These measures, he said, enhance Egypt’s appeal to Thai investors and offer promising opportunities for expansion across various sectors.
Abdelatty also discussed opportunities for Sea Value Group to expand its presence in Egypt and inject new investments in aquaculture, cold-chain development, production and storage facilities, and food processing. The two sides also discussed ways to draw on Sea Value Group’s expertise in research and development and advanced aquaculture technologies, leveraging Egypt’s strong fish production base to boost productivity, improve product quality, expand food processing and increase value added and export opportunities.
