Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rostom met on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, IFC North Africa and Horn of Africa Director Ari Naeem to discuss strengthening cooperation and supporting Egypt’s private sector. Rostom stressed the importance of accelerating private-sector participation in national projects, particularly in energy, water and infrastructure, while developing regulatory and legislative frameworks to attract domestic and foreign investment.

Naeem highlighted Egypt’s growth opportunities and affirmed IFC’s readiness to provide technical, advisory and financial support for infrastructure projects, public-private partnerships and entrepreneurship. The two sides agreed to maintain coordination to turn proposed areas of cooperation into practical programs supporting economic growth and job creation.
