Pacific International Lines (PIL) has strengthened its footprint in West Africa with the official opening of a new office in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the region and supporting the country’s expanding trade and logistics sector.
The new office follows the relocation of the company’s local agency earlier this year. The inauguration ceremony was attended by customers, logistics partners, banking institutions, port and terminal representatives, as well as customs authorities, underscoring the importance of the investment to the country’s maritime and trade community.
PIL said the new facility reflects its enduring commitment to Africa, where it has maintained operations since the 1970s. Through its global network, the shipping line provides container shipping, refrigerated cargo transport, logistics and integrated supply chain solutions, linking businesses in Côte d’Ivoire with international markets.
The company is also strengthening its South West Africa Service (SWS) to meet rising trade demand between Asia and West Africa. As part of the expansion, PIL is introducing newer vessels with capacities of up to 8,000 TEUs, offering customers greater cargo capacity, enhanced connectivity and more efficient shipping services.
According to the company, the investment demonstrates its confidence in Côte d’Ivoire, one of West Africa’s fastest-growing economies, and its commitment to helping customers seize emerging regional and global trade opportunities.
