The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources confirmed that, within the framework of immediate follow-up on any emergency incidents, a fire occurred on the regasification vessel and the storage vessel located at Damietta Port and the situation was handled immediately in accordance with approved emergency and rapid response plans, through the competent authorities and on-site firefighting and security teams.
Upon receiving the report, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, proceeded to the site of the incident to monitor the situation on the ground, ensure that control and securing operations were progressing, and verify the implementation of all safety measures and full coordination among the various concerned authorities until the situation is safely brought under control.
The Ministry confirms that the incident did not result in any injuries or human casualties, and that emergency teams, in coordination with the competent technical authorities, are continuing to complete the work and take the necessary measures in accordance with approved standards.
