Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi reviewed the readiness of Egypt’s national natural gas network to meet rising summer demand for electricity and industrial consumption amid soaring temperatures. During a visit to the control center of the national natural gas grid at GASCO, the minister checked domestic gas supplies, LNG regasification operations, and fuel availability for power plants to ensure stable energy supplies throughout the summer.
Badawi said proactive plans are in place in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity, under Mahmoud Esmat, with close follow-up from Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly to guarantee a secure summer energy supply. He noted that Egypt successfully met last summer’s record electricity demand of 40,000 megawatts through early planning and inter-ministerial coordination.
