Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 24, 2026, aimed at enhancing trade facilitation and border management. The agreement covers mutual recognition of trade procedures, exchange of customs intelligence, and capacity building programs for officers from both agencies.
The bilateral cooperation between Nigerian and Malaysian customs authorities is expected to streamline import/export documentation procedures, reduce border clearance times for goods traded between the two countries, and improve supply chain predictability for industrial importers and exporters operating in both markets. Joint capacity-building initiatives may include training on modern customs technologies and risk management systems.
