The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), representing Egypt and in coordination with the Egypt Expo and Convention Authority (EECA), is participating in the 21st edition of the China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF), being held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, from September 3 to 6, 2026.
The fair is organized by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The opening ceremony was attended by several senior officials, including Minister Plenipotentiary for Commercial Affairs Khaled Milad, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Office in Beijing, Zhang Guoqing, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Meng Fanli, Governor of Guangdong Province, and Li Lecheng, Minister of Industry and Information Technology.
The fair brings together numerous Chinese companies, as well as companies and representatives from several foreign countries, underscoring its international standing as one of the leading specialized events for small and medium enterprises. CEO of MSMEDA Mustafa Hassan said the agency’s participation in the Egyptian pavilion this year provides an important opportunity to showcase the wide range of products offered by small and medium enterprises, helping to establish new channels of communication with companies and investors from around the world.
He noted that MSMEDA clients taking part in this year’s fair represent a range of productive sectors, including food products, clothing, handicrafts and traditional crafts. The agency has also ensured the participation of enterprise owners from the governorates of Cairo, Sohag, Fayoum, Matrouh, Ismailia, Gharbia and Menoufia.
The MSMEDA CEO praised the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade for its efforts to expand cooperation with the agency, particularly through coordination with the EECA to help enterprise owners expand the marketing of their products, especially in international markets.
Hassan added that CISMEF provides an important platform for supporting small and medium enterprises and strengthening their ability to expand and gain access to foreign markets. The fair offers opportunities for bilateral meetings, the establishment of new partnerships, and gaining insights into international market needs and the latest trends in production, manufacturing, and trade.
China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) is one of the leading international events dedicated to the small and medium enterprise sector. Held annually in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, the fair has hosted around 56,000 exhibitors from more than 30 countries over its previous 20 editions and welcomed 4 million visitors.
