Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi said that Misr Petroleum plays a pivotal role in meeting the domestic market's demand for petroleum products and ensuring their availability across all governorates, describing the company as a key pillar of Egypt's petroleum products marketing and distribution system.
Badawi commended the company's business results and its efforts to enhance its services and maximize the use of its assets and capabilities. He made these remarks during Misr Petroleum's general assembly meeting held to approve its business results for the 2025/2026 fiscal year, in the presence of Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat and Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad, who joined via videoconference, along with a number of senior officials from the Ministry of Petroleum, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), as well as a senior representative of the Central Auditing Organization and Abbas Saber, head of the General Trade Union of Petroleum Workers.
Badawi stressed the importance of continuing to implement the company's ambitious plan to develop and upgrade its fuel stations, which aims to modernize approximately 130 stations annually. He praised the high standards achieved at the upgraded stations, noting that they reflect a tangible improvement in the quality of services provided to citizens and project a strong image of Misr Petroleum and its capabilities.
The minister also directed the company to uphold the highest occupational health and safety standards, particularly with respect to the transportation and handling of petroleum products, ensuring full compliance with safety requirements and securing these operations to protect lives and property while maintaining operational continuity.
He further emphasized the importance of continuing to develop aircraft and marine fuelling activities, enhancing the efficiency of the company's assets and facilities, and maximizing their utilization—both to strengthen its ability to meet domestic market needs and to pave the way for further expansion into foreign markets, alongside improving operational efficiency and maximizing returns on its assets.
For his part, Misr Petroleum Chairman Mohamed Maged Bekheit reviewed the company's key business results for the 2025/2026 fiscal year, noting that total revenues exceeded EGP 230 billion, while total sales surpassed 8 million tons of petroleum products. Total investments implemented during the year amounted to approximately EGP 1 billion.
Bekheit said the company continued its efforts to secure the domestic market's petroleum product needs and ensure their distribution across all governorates. It also upgraded its petroleum product loading and inventory monitoring system, with investments of EGP 180 million, helping enhance the efficiency of product management and distribution and ensure sustainable supply.
He added that several projects were implemented to develop aircraft and marine fuelling activities, with investments of EGP 31 million. The company also carried out an integrated plan to replace, develop, and enhance the efficiency of its machinery, equipment, and facilities, investing EGP 321 million to improve operational efficiency, preserve assets, and strengthen competitiveness.
As part of its strategy to expand beyond the domestic market and strengthen its regional presence, Bekheit noted that Misr Petroleum successfully entered new foreign markets by opening its first outlets outside Egypt in several countries, including Libya, Rwanda, and Malta.
He described the move as an important step toward expanding the company's operations and leveraging its expertise and capabilities in international markets. On occupational health, safety, and environmental protection, the chairman said the company continued to apply the highest standards of protection and prevention, safeguarding its facilities, equipment, and property.
