The Public Service Performance Management Unit (PSMU) vetted the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum's Performance Contract for the 2026/2027 Financial Year today at the KAWI Complex in South C. The exercise that aimed to ensure that departmental objectives are strategically aligned with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and the Ministry's overarching goals, brought together technical officers and Heads of Departments, led by the Secretary for Administration for the State Department for Energy, Mr.
David Wanyonyi, and his Petroleum counterpart, Mr. Mohammed Birik. Mr. Isaac Lagat, heading the PSMU team, noted that the vetting process aligns the Ministry’s work plan with national priorities and strategic goals. He noted that, to drive better public service delivery, the government has upgraded its productivity measurement index across all government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Emphasizing the value of the exercise, Mr. Wanyonyi stated that Performance Contracts are vital for promoting transparency, ensuring accountability, and guaranteeing the timely execution of strategic energy and petroleum projects.
