Labor Minister Hassan Raddad held talks on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, with a high-level WEC delegation on the sidelines of the 114th Session of the International Labor Conference in Geneva. The meeting reviewed prospects for cooperation in employment, skills development and opening new labor markets for qualified Egyptian workers.
The minister was briefed on the WEC’s strategic vision, international programs and organizational structure, as well as its efforts to develop labor markets, enhance employment opportunities and align skills with the needs of the global economy. The two sides also discussed the confederation’s operating mechanisms, international partnerships and role in supporting modern employment policies and improving labor market efficiency.
Raddad directed officials to study the preparation of a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and the WEC, including a clear, goal-oriented and practical implementation plan aimed at creating new opportunities for Egyptian youth to work abroad and leveraging the confederation’s global partner network, especially in European markets experiencing rising demand for skilled and trained labor.
