Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad held talks on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, with Indian Ambassador to Egypt Suresh K. Reddy on expanding cooperation in vocational training, employment and investment. During the meeting, held at the ministry's headquarters in the New Capital, Raddad said that Egypt and India continue to strengthen their long-standing relationship, particularly following the elevation of bilateral ties to a strategic partnership.
The minister added that the two sides discussed cooperation in labor mobility, vocational training, particularly in advanced technology fields, and occupational safety and health. He also proposed partnerships between Egyptian and Indian technology training centers to help prepare skilled workers for the changing needs of local and international labor markets.
The minister said the ministry is committed to facilitating procedures in accordance with national regulations while supporting a competitive investment environment. He also welcomed a proposal to hold a meeting with Indian companies operating in Egypt to discuss labor regulations and address any challenges they may face.
For his part, Reddy reaffirmed India's interest in expanding cooperation with Egypt, particularly in the economic and industrial sectors, and invited Raddad to visit India for talks on strengthening cooperation in labor, employment and vocational training.
