The Jigawa State Government has announced plans to host a major investment summit aimed at attracting local and foreign investors and driving economic growth across key sectors. The Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Sagiru Musa Ahmed, disclosed this during a press briefing on the Jigawa State Investment Summit 2026, scheduled for July 1 and 2.
The summit, with the theme “Unlocking Opportunities: Driving Sustainable Growth for a Better Jigawa”, will bring together policymakers, investors, development partners, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs from within and outside Nigeria. Ahmed described the initiative as a clear move to position Jigawa as a top investment destination.
“This summit reflects the government’s strong commitment to repositioning Jigawa’s economy through strategic partnerships and targeted investments,” he said. He said the state holds strong potential due to its agricultural resources, peaceful environment, growing infrastructure, and youthful population.

Our goal is to connect these opportunities with serious investors who are ready to create value and jobs,” he added. The commissioner said the summit will focus on four key sectors.
These include agriculture, renewable energy, MSMEs, and light manufacturing, as well as education and healthcare. “Discussions on agriculture will focus on financing and scaling production. In renewable energy, we will explore practical solutions to support sustainable development,” Ahmed said.
He added that small businesses will receive attention due to their role in job creation and economic expansion. “MSMEs remain critical to our growth strategy. We want to support them with the right policies, funding, and partnerships,” he said.
