Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh inspected on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, the factory of PureLife, a company specializing in the production of micron filters and desalination plants in Damietta governorate, as part of his field tour of the governorate under the Egypt Goes for Export initiative.
The visit focused on reviewing the company’s production activities and expansion plans, particularly its efforts to increase exports. The minister was accompanied by Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), as well as a number of senior ministry and authority officials.
The minister received a briefing on the company’s activities and business development. Company Chairman Mohamed El-Sheikh said PureLife was established in 2014 with a capital of dlrs 3.7 million, including a 20% foreign ownership stake. The project’s investment costs stand at approximately dlrs 9.7 million, while the factory covers an area of 5,791 square meters.
He said the factory manufactures micron filters and their components, assembles production lines and various types of filter machines, and manufactures and assembles components and parts for desalination plants. Its activities also include the production of reverse-osmosis membranes, as well as the manufacture and assembly of wastewater treatment plants and the production of masks, protective equipment and related components.
El-Sheikh added that the company also manufactures the raw materials used in its products and exports around 80% of its annual production. The factory has a production capacity of approximately two million filter cartridges and 30 desalination-plant housings annually.
He also reviewed the company’s export performance in recent years, noting that exports rose from approximately dlrs 698,200 in 2022 to dlrs 799,400 in 2023, before surging to dlrs 2.72 million in 2024 and reaching approximately dlrs 3.17 million in 2025. Farid underscored the importance of Egyptian companies continuing to expand production, increase local content and strengthen their access to international markets.
He directed full coordination among the ministry’s various entities and factories to support investment, promote Egyptian products and increase exports. The minister also toured the company’s production lines and reviewed the various stages of manufacturing and assembling its products, as well as its future plans to expand production capacity and increase exports.
