Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid emphasized on Monday, September 21, 2026, the importance of supporting existing investments and maximizing the utilization of available production capacities to boost local production, manufacturing, and job creation, highlighting the need to increase exports from existing companies and open new markets for Egyptian products.
This came during the minister's inspection of the ECPC–Consolis prestressed concrete factory in 10th of Ramadan City, in the presence of Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry; Eric Chevallier, French Ambassador to Egypt, Ahmed Serry, Managing Director of the Egyptian Company for Prestressed Concrete; and senior officials.
The minister listened to a presentation detailing the company's activities and manufacturing capabilities, and inspected the laboratory alongside the production stages of prestressed concrete pipes, concrete segments used in the subway system, and several other concrete products.
He stressed the government’s commitment to facilitating operations for investors, enhancing coordination among relevant authorities to address corporate challenges, supporting export procedures, and easing access to foreign markets. For his part, Serry expressed the company's pride in collaborating with various government entities and development partners in Egypt, noting that the achievements made over past years reflect mutual trust and a shared commitment to supporting state plans for sustainable development and infrastructure growth.
He added that the company continues to work on enhancing local manufacturing, technology transfer, and upskilling Egyptian personnel to provide advanced engineering solutions that support national projects and align with state investment and development targets.
ECPC is a joint Egyptian-French investment with current investments reaching approximately $20 million, employing 816 workers, and utilizing a local component rate of around 98%. The visit concluded with discussions on ways to maximize current production capacities, boost company exports, streamline logistics, facilitate access to international markets, and promote Egyptian products globally.
