Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid Saleh discussed on Monday, September 21, 2026, with French Ambassador to Cairo Eric Chevallier ways to promote French investments in Egypt and deepen the economic partnership between the two countries, as well as follow up on the situation of French companies operating in the Egyptian market.
They also discussed ongoing preparations for holding the Egyptian Investment Forum in France in the coming period. The meeting was held in the presence of Pascal Forth, Economic Counselor at the French Embassy, on the sidelines of Minister Mohamed Farid’s field tour to inspect a number of factories operated by French companies in 10th of Ramadan City, including ECPC for Prestressed Concrete and a L’Oréal factory.
Farid affirmed the depth of economic and investment relations between Egypt and France, highlighting the importance of French investments in a number of sectors. He also stressed the government’s commitment to maintaining direct dialogue with the French business community, supporting the expansion of existing companies and working to attract new investments.
The meeting addressed the status of a number of existing French investments and discussed the challenges facing companies and ways to address them in coordination with the relevant authorities, in a manner that supports expansion plans and increases production.
The two sides also discussed arrangements for the Egyptian Investment Forum in France, including the forum’s themes, priority sectors, and targeted companies and investors, in a way that contributes to promoting available investment opportunities in Egypt to the French business community.
Farid said the ministry is working to facilitate investment procedures and follow up on operational challenges facing existing companies, thereby contributing to improving the investment climate, supporting companies’ expansion and increasing their production capacities.
He noted that field visits to factories constitute an essential part of the ministry’s approach to maintaining direct communication with investors, identifying their actual needs, and supporting expansion plans in coordination with the relevant authorities.
