Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid met with a delegation from the Arab Businesswomen Council, headed by Sheikha Hessa Al Abdullah, with Presidential Adviser Hala El-Saaed also taking part in the meeting. The meeting focused on ways to promote joint Arab investment and cooperation, support women’s participation in economic activity, and advance government efforts to improve the business environment and facilitate investment procedures.
Farid reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Arab Businesswomen Council and establishing direct channels of communication with businesswomen interested in investing in Egypt. He also proposed holding regular meetings to showcase investment opportunities and identify challenges facing women investors.
The Minister reviewed government efforts to improve the business environment, particularly through simplifying and digitizing procedures and linking relevant government entities providing investment-related services. Such measures, he said, would help expedite services and improve the investor experience.
He also highlighted the development of a platform linking government entities to procedures related to capital increases, as well as the development of services and licensing procedures for various economic activities. For her part, Sheikha Hessa Al Abdullah expressed the council’s interest in expanding joint Arab investments and increasing its presence in the Egyptian market.
She also stressed the importance of supporting Arab projects and helping them develop into brands capable of expanding and reaching global markets. Saaed underscored the importance of exchanging expertise among Arab countries and drawing on successful experiences to support and develop businesses.
She noted the possibility of adopting promising Arab projects, helping develop them and supporting their access to global markets. The two sides agreed to maintain coordination through designated points of contact at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to present investment opportunities and follow up on requests and complaints submitted by businesswomen.
