Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh stressed that the current stage requires promoting the advanced technical capabilities of the General Organization for Export and Import Control's laboratories alongside their ongoing development to boost investor confidence and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian exports globally.
This came during the minister's meeting with several House of Representatives members in Alexandria, attended by Alexandria Governor Ayman Attia, following an inspection tour at Dekheila Port that included testing yards and technical laboratories belonging to the authority.
The minister stated that Egypt possesses an advanced infrastructure and qualified human resources operating under the highest international standards, noting that the challenge now extends to marketing these capabilities locally and internationally. Farid directed the preparation of promotional materials in Arabic, English, and French to be distributed via Egyptian commercial representation offices abroad.
Farid also invited parliamentarians to visit investment zones and review existing projects to support communication between the executive and legislative branches and enhance efforts to attract investments. For his part, Alexandria Governor Ayman Attia emphasized that many tests previously conducted abroad are now performed inside Egypt under identical international accreditation levels with high efficiency and lower costs, which strengthens Egypt's position as a regional hub for testing services.
The parliament members praised the significant development in the testing and laboratory ecosystem, affirming that it reflects state investments in technical infrastructure, boosts external market confidence in Egyptian products, and serves as a key element in supporting national economic competitiveness and increasing exports.
