The Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) released on Thursday, October 22, 2026, a series of infographics reviewing key positive indicators of the Egyptian economy. The IDSC also highlighted its capacity to withstand regional challenges and detailed sovereign credit rating assessments by major international agencies.
It also added that amid regional volatility impacting energy markets, international trade, and global financing conditions, Egypt’s macroeconomic indicators demonstrate growing flexibility to absorb external shocks. These developments are reflected in higher growth rates, improved public finance balances, and record-high foreign exchange reserves.
Egypt achieved strong performance in the 2025/2026 fiscal year, recording its highest economic growth rate in three years at 5.1%, compared to 4.4% in FY 2024/2025. Unemployment fell to 5.8% in Q2 2026, down from 6.1% a year earlier, while the overall budget deficit narrowed to 5.8% of GDP.
“Annual urban inflation declined sharply to 13.3% in FY 2025/2026, down from 20.4% in the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, net international reserves reached a record of $57.3 billion in September 2026, compared to $49.5 billion in September 2025,” the report added.
