Industry Minister Khaled Hashim said on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Egypt aims to channel more citizens’ investments into the industrial sector, focusing on technology transfer, local supply chains and knowledge-based industries. Speaking at a meeting with officials of the Egyptian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, Hashim outlined four cooperation tracks, including launching industrial investment funds, with the first expected this month, developing an “Industrial Franchise” model linking leading factories with smaller manufacturers and startups, supporting distressed factories through investor partnerships, and financing small and medium-sized enterprises.
Hashim said a unified digital platform would help connect distressed factories with financiers and investors and provide a database to facilitate partnerships and restart idle production capacity. He added that Egypt’s industrial strategy through 2030 prioritizes integration into global supply chains, strategic and enabling industries, complementary manufacturing, and the circular economy.
