Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hendy had talks with Benedita Miranda, COO EMEA at Foundever which is the next generation global leader in customer experience (CX), on the company's expansion plans in the Egyptian market and promoting joint cooperation to support the growth of the outsourcing services industry.
The Minister asserted that the ministry places great importance on supporting both local and foreign investments in the ICT sector, particularly in outsourcing services and digital exports, as these are promising sectors where Egypt has strong competitive advantages at both regional and international levels.
Hendy said that the state is working to create an attractive and enabling investment environment for the growth of global companies operating in Egypt, through expanding digital capacity-building programs, providing qualified talent, developing digital infrastructure, and offering the necessary facilitation to support companies’ investment and expansion plans, enabling them to scale their operations and increase their exports of digital services from Egypt to global markets.
He added that the ministry’s strategy aims to strengthen Egypt’s position as a global hub for outsourcing services and cross-border service delivery. He noted that the continued expansion of international companies in the Egyptian market reflects growing confidence in Egyptian talent and the sector’s ability to achieve strong and sustainable growth rates.
He also praised the expansion plans of Foundever across governorates, particularly in Upper Egypt, stressing that the ministry supports geographic expansion beyond Greater Cairo, which contributes to creating high-quality job opportunities for youth across all governorates and achieving balanced digital development.
The meeting reviewed the company’s expansion plans in Egypt, in light of the rapid growth of its operations in the Egyptian market. The company currently employs around 2,700 professionals across its specialized centers in Maadi, Nasr City, and Luxor. It also outlined plans to increase the workforce at its Luxor center from 350 employees to 1,000 within the next quarter of this year, in addition to establishing a new center in Giza during the current year, further strengthening Egypt’s position within the company’s global delivery network.
She also referred to the Freelance Mama program, which is being implemented by the company within the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, expounding that the program has successfully graduated more than 250 mothers, equipping them with digital and freelance skills to pursue flexible work opportunities, a testament to the company's commitment to inclusive economic empowerment and community impact across Egypt.
She affirmed that Egypt continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading global hubs for service delivery, adding: “What truly distinguishes Egypt is the soft and human skills of its people, which, alongside strong language proficiency, have helped establish its position as one of the world’s top destinations for customer experience services.”
