Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said on Monday, July 6, 2026, that Egypt is confident in the ability of its young talent to transform the country into a regional hub for digital services and innovation, He cited the availability of qualified engineers, developers and specialists, a growing technological ecosystem and digital infrastructure capable of supporting service exports.
The minister made the remarks while attending the inauguration of the new digital services center of Coca-Cola HBC in Cairo. During the event, he interacted with young Egyptian innovators and symbolically took a penalty kick in support of one of the recreational games developed by employees at the center.
Kouchouk said the facility currently employs 250 young Egyptians who provide advanced services in information technology, artificial intelligence and software engineering. He said Egyptian professionals at the center are already serving 27 markets, with plans to expand operations to an additional 14 markets across Africa.
Kouchouk praised the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for its efforts in establishing advanced partnerships that enhance the competitiveness of the private sector and support the growth of Egypt's technology industry. He described the opening of the center in Cairo as an important step toward boosting Egypt's digital services exports, noting that significant investment opportunities remain to further increase the sector's contribution to the national economy.
The minister also said the project represents a new vote of confidence by international investors in the Egyptian economy and in the capabilities of the country's young workforce. Kouchouk said the government aims to attract more high-quality investments driven by technology and innovation in order to create distinguished employment opportunities for Egyptian youth.
