Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said the government is targeting the allocation of EGP 6 billion to pay in cash the third tranche of overdue dues owed to exporters for shipments made before July 1, 2024. Kouchouk said applications from exporting companies seeking to benefit from the third tranche of the cash payment initiative will be accepted from Aug.

16 through Oct. 1, with payments scheduled to be disbursed on Oct. 22. In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, the minister said more than EGP 80 billion has been paid to exporters over the past six years, adding that the government aims to clear all outstanding dues within two years.

He noted that EGP 48 billion has been allocated in the current budget to accelerate the provision of export support, while export subsidies reached EGP 28 billion in fiscal year 2025/2026, marking annual growth of 55%. Kouchouk said there is ongoing coordination and integration with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to develop the export system and boost the export sector.

He stressed that the government is working to provide exporters with liquidity to support the growth and competitiveness of Egypt’s goods and services exports, adding that it aims to significantly increase annual allocations for export support and promotion in order to open new markets for Egyptian products.

Meanwhile, Nevine Mansour, the minister’s adviser for economic institutions’ relations, said EGP 12.6 billion in cash had been paid to around 2,500 exporting companies during the last fiscal year. She noted that the amount represented the total value of the first and second tranches of overdue dues paid in cash during fiscal year 2025/2026, instead of being paid over two fiscal years.
