European Union Ambassador to Egypt Angelina Eichhorst affirmed that the European Union is supporting Egypt in enhancing local wheat production and reducing exposure to global shocks. This came in the speech delivered by the European ambassador on Monday, May 11, 2026, during an event organized by the EU-funded “CAFY” program at the Rental Service Station of the Agricultural Research Center in Damanhour, on the occasion of launching wheat harvesting mechanization and the official handover of modern agricultural machinery to the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
