The Arab Women Investors Union, headed by Hoda Yassa, and advisor to the Congolese government and general coordinator of the Congolese trade mission currently hosted by the union Henri Désiré N'zouzi signed an Egyptian-Arab-Congolese cooperation protocol aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties.
The signing ceremony was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Mohamed Karim Sherif at the headquarters of the Arab Women Investors Union. Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty has made support for grassroots economic diplomacy, private sector engagement and Egyptian-African cooperation a top priority to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development, Assistant Foreign Minister Mohamed Karim Sherif said.
He welcomed the Congolese delegation and thanked the Arab Women Investors Union for hosting the mission. He highlighted the strength of Egyptian-Congolese relations, praising the growing momentum in bilateral cooperation and the recent visit of the Congolese president to Egypt.
Sherif noted that the newly signed protocol represents an important step toward expanding economic cooperation, broadening Egyptian-Arab-Congolese relations and supporting the private sector. For her part, union head Hoda Yassa thanked the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for supporting public and economic diplomacy, the private sector, young entrepreneurs and business leaders, as well as for backing the union's hosting of the Congolese trade mission.
She revealed that 14 trade cooperation agreements were signed during bilateral meetings with union members, with the support of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, in addition to an agreement to establish three new investment factories through Egyptian-Congolese partnerships.
Yassa said the protocol aims to build economic and commercial cooperation bridges, strengthen collaboration between the Congolese private sector and its Egyptian and Arab counterparts from member states of the Arab Women Investors Union, as well as with friendly countries and expand joint investments in both Egypt and Congo.
The protocol was signed during the Egyptian-Congolese Trade and Investment Forum, held under the theme "Towards Strategic Partnerships and Promising Investment Opportunities." The forum, organized by the Arab Women Investors Union, concluded the Congolese trade mission's field visits to a number of Egyptian factories in Cairo, Alexandria and Tenth of Ramadan City, where delegates were introduced to the quality of Egyptian products.
The forum also featured bilateral business meetings aimed at promoting trade exchange, building investment partnerships and opening new export markets for Egyptian products in the Republic of the Congo and other Central African countries.
