Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, CEO of UAE's Dana Gas Group Richard Hall to review the group's operations in Egypt, including plans to expand exploration, drilling and production activities and increase natural gas output from its onshore Nile Delta concessions as part of the ministry's strategy to boost domestic oil and gas production.
Badawi reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting investors, saying the settlement of foreign partners' dues sends a strong signal of confidence and reinforces Egypt's efforts to provide a stable investment environment. He added that the Petroleum Ministry is working with partners to accelerate drilling, develop new discoveries, lower costs and deploy advanced technologies, including horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing to increase production and maximize recoveries.
Meanwhile, Hall welcomed the Petroleum Ministry's support, saying the regular settlement of the group's dues had strengthened Dana Gas's confidence in the Egyptian market and encouraged it to expand its investments. He said the group's latest drilling campaign increased its proven gas reserves by 20-25%, prompting the addition of two new exploration wells to speed up production and further develop its concession areas in Egypt.
