Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Issa affirmed the strength of the longstanding ties between Egypt and Kyrgyzstan, expressing Egypt’s interest in expanding cooperation across various fields. Issa made the remarks during a meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev on the sidelines of his participation, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek.
Issa thanked the Kyrgyz leadership for its warm reception and congratulated the country on its Independence Day, the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the opening of the sixth World Nomad Games in Bishkek. He stressed Egypt’s commitment to developing political, trade, economic, investment and cultural ties with Kyrgyzstan, saying the visit could open new avenues for cooperation and further strengthen bilateral relations.
On his part, Kasymaliev welcomed Issa, stressing the importance of the visit in advancing Egyptian-Kyrgyz cooperation, particularly in trade, the economy, investment, industry and culture. He reviewed the outcome of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov’s official visit to Egypt in November 2025, which gave fresh momentum to bilateral ties and led to a decision to open a Kyrgyz embassy in Cairo.
The talks also focused on Egypt’s status as a dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in the presence of Ibrahim Hamza, Egypt’s chargé d’affaires to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Kasymaliev said Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to coordinating and cooperating with Egypt through the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, helping expand the organization’s international reach and strengthen ties between Central Asia, the Arab world and Africa.
