Industry Minister Khaled Hashem met Indian Ambassador to Egypt Suresh K. Reddy on Thursday, September 10, 2026, to discuss strengthening industrial cooperation and attracting further Indian investment to Egypt. The meeting reviewed the minister’s recent participation in the BRICS Industry Ministers Meeting in Jaipur and preparations for the Indian Industry Minister’s planned visit to Cairo in November, which will include an Egyptian-Indian business forum and a visit to the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Hashem said economic relations between Egypt and India have gained momentum, welcoming further Indian investment and partnerships with Egyptian companies to serve the domestic market and expand exports to Europe, Africa and Arab countries. He also highlighted Egypt’s interest in benefiting from India’s experience in industrial policy and regulatory reforms as the government works to streamline procedures and facilitate investment.
Reddy said Indian companies view Egypt as an attractive investment destination and a regional hub for manufacturing and exports, reaffirming India’s commitment to expanding industrial cooperation between the two countries.
