CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Awad affirmed the Authority’s commitment to continuing efforts to strengthen cooperation with the Indian business community, provide all forms of support, and capitalize on promising investment opportunities in the Egyptian market, particularly in priority sectors.
Awad made the remarks during a meeting with Indian Ambassador in Cairo Suresh K. Reddy to discuss ways to enhance investment cooperation between Egypt and India and strengthen economic ties between the two countries, with a view to increasing Indian investments in Egypt.
The two sides reviewed a number of investment opportunities and projects available in Egypt, as well as mechanisms to support Indian companies operating in the Egyptian market and encourage them to expand their operations and inject new investments. They also discussed promoting partnerships between Egyptian and Indian companies to boost bilateral investment and trade.
For his part, the Indian ambassador reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening economic and investment cooperation with Egypt. He highlighted the promising opportunities available to Indian companies in the Egyptian market and stressed the importance of continued coordination to identify new investment opportunities and support the expansion of Indian companies in Egypt.
The two sides also agreed to maintain coordination in the coming period, exchange information on investment opportunities and priority projects, and strengthen ties between the business communities of the two countries, in a move aimed at increasing Indian investments in Egypt and opening new avenues for economic and investment partnerships.
