Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid said on Thursday, July 23, 2026, that Egypt is keen to attract high-value healthcare investments and cultivate a business-friendly environment for strategic projects. The Minister made the remarks during a meeting with representatives of Hassan Allam Holding and Turkey's Rönesans Holding to discuss plans to develop an integrated medical complex in Cairo under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Farid said the government was continuing efforts to improve the investment climate and streamline procedures, adding that it was considering granting the project a "Golden Licence" or designating it as part of an investment zone to accelerate approvals and permits.
He said partnerships with the private sector were a key pillar in developing healthcare services and enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy. The proposed project would include a medical complex with a total capacity of 4,200 beds, as well as residential and educational facilities.
It could be implemented in phases with scope for future expansion. Dalia Wahba, Chief Executive of Hassan Allam Investment Management, said the project reflected investor confidence in the Egyptian market and its ability to attract long-term investment. She added that the consortium included partners with global expertise in developing and financing healthcare projects.
Volkan Hatinoglu, Deputy General Manager of the Project Management Office at Rönesans Holding, said the group is looking forward to bringing its international experience in hospital development to Egypt through a project that would strengthen the country's healthcare sector.
