Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Tawfik Rostom stressed that discussions at "Egypt Forum 2026" highlighted the vital importance of supporting entrepreneurship and empowering youth to turn innovative ideas into successful ventures that drive economic growth and job creation.
He noted that Egypt’s successful entrepreneurial models serve as an inspiration for future generations. Speaking on the sidelines of the forum during an interview with Egyptian Television’s Channel 1, Rostom explained that the state aims to support the communications and information technology sector over the next three years as part of its economic transformation program.
He attributed this target to the sector's expanding role in spurring growth, opening new horizons for youth-led ventures, and generating sustainable economic opportunities. The minister noted that the forum’s sessions—particularly those focused on the entrepreneurship agenda—showcased successful ideas and ventures developed by ambitious young Egyptians in recent years.
He further pointed out that the forum’s entrepreneurship agenda covers several vital fields, primarily financial services, agritech, and information technology, with a special emphasis on leveraging youth-developed digital applications to deliver innovative solutions aligned with market needs.
Maximizing the benefits of technological advancements, the planning minister concluded, requires strengthening young people’s capacity for innovation and steering their ideas toward projects that generate economic returns and create sustainable jobs.
