Egypt is moving steadily to strengthen its position as a global hub for digital service exports by continuing to invest in digital skill development and building a highly qualified workforce, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindy said.
Hindy made the remarks during a meeting on Friday, July 31, 2026, with Asif Peer, CEO of global IT services and consulting firm Systems Limited, to discuss the company's plans to expand its operations in Egypt and transform its local center into one of its largest worldwide; boosting exports of digital services to regional and international markets.
Systems Limited recently opened a new facility at the Smart Village, which currently employs around 250 engineers specializing in software development, IT services, and outsourcing. The company plans to create more than 380 additional jobs in the coming period.
Hindy said the continued expansion of global technology companies in Egypt reflects the country's growing competitiveness in software development, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and high-value outsourcing services. For his part, Peer said Egypt's strong outsourcing capabilities have encouraged the company to expand its presence, with plans to make its Egypt center the group's second-largest worldwide after its headquarters in Pakistan.
He added that around 85% of the company's business is export-oriented.
